Competition Rules for 2008

  1. You are limited to one entry per meeting.
  2. Photos entered in the competition can be film or digital, up to A4 in size.
  3. All entries are to be unmatted and unframed.
  4. An entry can not be a winner from a previous Club competition.
  5. One point is awarded for each photo entered, 5 points for the winner, 3 points for 2nd place and 2 points for 3rd place.
  6. Everyone attending the meeting votes on the entries - the entry with the most votes is the winner.
  7. At the end of the year, points are tallied to determine overall winners.
  8. The competition themes for the following year are chosen by all present at the December meeting.

The competition theme each month is open to interpretation - be creative and have fun!

Meeting Times

The photography club is free of charge, and anyone with an interest in photography is welcome to attend. We meet on the first Friday of the month (February - December).

Meeting time is 7:30pm, at Hunter Region School of Photography, 182 B Maitland Rd, Mayfield.

From the Desk

It has been great to see so many people braving the cold winter nights to attend the club meetings. Welcome to all - old and new club members alike.

Our guest speaker for the next club meeting, at 7:30pm on Friday 1st August, is Mark Thomas. Mark is one of a group of photographers involved in a project in Hargraves, an historic gold mining town in regional NSW.

Our competition theme for August is "Panning".

Club Outings

The Luskintyre Aviation Flying Museum "Lunch with the Tigers" has become a regular outing for club members. For anyone interested, Lunch with the Tigers is on again this Saturday. More details on the Luskintyre Aviation Flying Museum website.

Back by popular demand (that means Darrell and George) our Mystery Shoot is scheduled for this Sunday, 3rd August. We will be meeting at 10:00am in the McDonalds car park at Warners Bay (Hillsborough Rd & Macquarie Rd intersection).

You will receive a number of photographic clues to follow (and a map). Our lunchtime destination will have BBQ facilities. The Mystery Shoot is NOT a race, it's a fun day out to see parts of the area we live in that you might not otherwise see, with photo opportunities and good company along the way.
