Photoshop Elements - Stage 1
You have put in the hard work and it has resulted in a large collection of spectacular photographs, so why not come along and learn what can be achieved with a little bit of post-processing? Watch your images come to life with the knowledge you will gain learning how to operate Photoshop Elements.
Photoshop Elements is an easy-to-use program for professional and casual photographers. Accessible to everyone, including people with a limited knowledge of photo editing software, this course is designed by photographers for photographers.
For students with no prior experience of using Photoshop Elements. This 4 hour workshop is limited to a minimum of 4 students and a maximum of 6 students. The school's computers are installed with Photoshop Elements 11 or students can bring their own laptops installed with Photoshop Elements 9, 10, or 11. A free trial version is available from Adobe or the program can be purchased from JB-Hifi, Harvey Norman, Domayne, etc.
The Organiser and Editor workspace, importing and opening digital files, creating a catalog, adding a star rating, view photo information (metadata) and photos in media browser.
Guided Edit Mode - Introducing zoom and hand tool, control brightness and contrast, correct skin tones, crop, enhance colours, levels, rotate and straighten, remove scratches and blemishes, sharpen, change depth of field, high and low key portraits, line drawing, tilt and shift, vignette, Orton Effect, and convert to black & white.
Quick Edit Mode - Introducing zoom and hand tool, quick selection, red eye removal, whiten teeth, text, spot healing brush, crop/straighten tools. Controlling exposure, levels, colour, and sharpening.
Students are encouraged to bring up to 12 of their own images to be enhances using the tools and editing features outlined above. The school will supply a variety of images to edit for those students who don't supply their own.
We have four computers in the classroom available to students for the duration of the course, which will be allocated to those people that need one and enrol first. Should you need the use of a classroom computer, please advise when you enrol.

**The Elements courses marked with asterisks after the dates are an indication that to enrol in that particular course you are required to bring your own laptop.
